NASCAR fans are among the world’s most passionate supporters and are infamous for the lengths they go to express their love for their favorite drivers. The sport has a unique fan culture where the drivers and fans have open interactions even when there are minutes left before a race starts. NASCAR also steps in to cater to fans by hosting different events.
One such event that is hosted around every track in the schedule is the meet and greet where the fans can come and spend some time with the star drivers. But for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson, the meet and greet is a fake event he despises. The Hendrick Motorsports driver prefers to have interactions with fans outside the track.
In an interview at the start of the 2023 season, Larson pointed out that he finds it awkward to have met with someone at the race track and says he hates the NASCAR meet and greet because it is kind of a forced activity. He admitted that he has been in situations where he was dragged into meeting people he doesn’t care about during such events.
I guess away from the track if I’m gonna meet somebody, I’d more prefer that but at the racetrack, it’s just always awkward. I hate the meet and greets where NASCAR will bring a celebrity or a trailer. Because I’ve been in those moments where it’s like you’re getting dragged around to go meet people and you don’t really care to meet them.Larson told Garage Guys NASCAR Betting.

The Team Penske Racing driver claimed that he only had positive intentions and called himself a victim of click-baiting. He also slammed the prominent Door Bumper Clear podcast host for his comments on the same.
