He went on to say that he really appreciates the opportunity that was presented to him, to watch his father getting back on the track, and said that he wants to see his father doing great on the track as he finds Bill Elliott enjoying the experience very much.
“To be able to come down here and watch is fun. You don’t always get these opportunities, and typically my weekends are busy, so I appreciate that. I wanna see him do well and he enjoys this,” Chase Elliott said.
Reacting to his race weekend entry after a long time “Rocketman” Ryan Newman acknowledged that it’s so fun for him to get back behind the wheels of a race car after a year and a half of hiatus. He went on to say that to come to the track and race in a well-prepared car was special for him. Ryan Newman added that the crew he had was the best of the best.
“After all I’ve been through the last year, year and a half, with cars that are not so fun to drive — let’s put it that way — to come out here with as equally as prepared a car as possible and have some fun was pretty special,” said Ryan Newman.
“These guys are the best of the best,” added Ryan Newman.
