NASCAR will hit Texas Motor Speedway for the 2022 All-Star race on Sunday where 32 champion drivers will go hard in the one million dollars non-point race aiming for a win. The exhibition race will also mark the mid-season of the regular NASCAR season as there are just 13 Cup races left before the commencement of Cup Playoffs.

The 2022 season so far has been a roller coaster ride for No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 driver Austin Dillon as the 32 years old chase for 4th cup race win continuous. Austin Dillon was able to secure some solid finishes this year with two P2 and a P3 finish to his name in his 6 top 10 finishes, but he also has 5 finishes outside the top 20 which questions his consistency.

Austin Dillon will hit the Texas Motor Speedway hoping to bounce back as his last cup race win came on this track back in 2020. Now, Austin Dillon has come forth to discuss his chances at the All-Star race and a playoff spot.

And it’s kind of a weekend (with) no points, which is nice, but you still want to go out there and perform well and use it as a tool, as a practice session,Austin Dillon said.

We’ve struggled as of late, trying to get the balance right on our race car. But we’ve still been, you know, making some good finishes. We just got to keep working hard and take in what the races give us and stay confident and pumped about what we got going on here at RCR,” Austin Dillon added.

Austin Dillon went on to say with 13 races to go he expect a total of 16 different Cup race winners and acknowledged that his RCR team is in a situation where they have to secure at least a win to move forward. He went on to say they will definitely go after a win when given the opportunity sharing he is ready to risk it for the biscuit.

With 13 (races) to go, I think there’s gonna be 16 winners. So the position we’re in, we got to go out there and try to get a win and lock ourselves in that way. You gotta risk it for the biscuit sometimes. And we’ll definitely, when the opportunity arises and we have that chance, go after it,” says Austin Dillon.
