Kyle Busch came into this year with the hopes of redemption after he and the No:8 team peaked too early in the 2024 season. He started his maiden season with RCR on a high note winning three races before half-way of the year, before slowly dropping back and eventually getting knocked out early in the playoffs.
The 2024 season so far has gone from bad to worse for him as the team hasn’t been able to give him cars capable of even consistently being in fight for top-10s. The few times he got a fast car, luck didn’t side with him as he got caught in other racers mess. Regardless of this, RCR owner Richard Childress is confidence they can be great again with Busch.

While talking about his teams’ poor run during the Nashville race week, he admitted that he still feels pretty string about Kyle Busch on what he can deliver just like he felt on the day he signed him. Richard Childress reckons by changing somethings they can get back to winning races as they used to do again.
I feel as strong about Kyle Busch as I did when he became a part of this company a year-and-a-half ago. I feel as good about that. We’ve got to change some things. You’ll see it.Richard Childress told Bob Pockrass.
Kyle Busch isn’t comfortable with his current RCR car
While talking about the car and his speed ahead of the race week, Kyle Busch admitted that he isn’t comfortable enough in the No:8 Chevy. This restricts the champion driver from making the risky moves that can benefit him and yield better results.

Just the feel is not there for me. The more comfortable you are, the more positions you can put yourself in and take chances. I feel like I’m having a hard enough time making laps on my own to ever think about trying to make a pass on someone.Kyle Busch said.
Richard Childress must work with his crew to give Kyle Busch a car competitive enough as that’s the only thing stopping him from securing a win. It would be interesting to see how the 2024 season will playout for him in the 2024 season.
