One of the major objectives of Kevin Harvick after his retirement from the Cup series two years ago was the carer of his son. Keelan Harvick is one of the most famous stock car racing prodigies, who has shows solid progress over the years. The 13-year-old is showing maturity beyond his years with recent outing.
Kevin Harvick’s former crew chief Rodeny Childers, who is actively involved with the veteran, in his recent interview with MRN (Motor Racing Network) has revealed how Keelan Harvick is being trained. He pointed out that the smart youngster is learning about racing every day but sometimes gets a mouthful from the 2014 champion over mistakes.
He’s just a super smart kid, and there’s times that he gets a mouthful from Kevin, but he’s learning from the best every single day. The way that he goes about his days.

He highlighted how the teenager has to wake up everyday before school to go running in the morning. Childers asserted that Kevin Harvick is passing on the discipline and intensity that made him one of the best racers of his generation.
I mean, Kevin makes him get up every single morning and go for a run before he goes to school. Just the discipline that Kevin’s always had his whole life, and his intensity, and the way he goes about things is just second to none.

Kevin Harvick’s son Keelan recently made his Late Stock Model debut
Last week marked a special race for Keelan Harvick, as he raced in the 2025 South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway and secured a top-5 finish. It was his Late Stock Model debut and he left that track impressive a lot of fans, driving for Kevin Harvick’s KHI team.

Yeah, there’s definitely a lot of stuff that happened in that race. Just can’t thank the KHI (Kevin Harvick Incorporated) guys enough. They brought me a really fast car. Sorry to them that I damaged it a bit, but came out here with a top-5.

He was involved in many challenging moments in the race, including a wreck on turn two where he was just an innocent bystander. But with the help of his team, the teenager overcame the challenges and with some luck was able to secure a strong finish. It was a moment that taught him perseverance and resolve.
Later when asked about how the race is going to influence his confidence, with more Southern National races left in the year for him, he admitted that it does. He is determined to keep building from the string foundation of start he has had with the top 5 finish.
MW: What about the speed for Southern National next weekend? You feel pretty good about it?
KH: Yes, sir. You know, this definitely builds the confidence. A top five was pretty good in my first late-model stock race. Just keep building.
