Team Penske Racing ended the Joe Gibbs Racing 2025 playoff dominance, announcing they are still the team to beat in the Next-Gen era. Ryan Blaney held off Josh Berry of Wood Brothers Racing, who are considered as the fourth Penske car, to secure his third win of the season, earning him a spot in the R-8, closer to the championship.
It was the maiden New Hampshire win of his career for Ryan Blaney, and he was ecstatic to finally hold the lobster trophy on the victory lane. On his post-race press conference, the No:12 Ford Mustang driver sees this as the coolest trophy he has ever had and admitted that he wanted to win it for over thirty years, from the day he first saw a racer in the victory lane in it.
I watched a lot of races here growing up, whether I was here or watching on TV. The lobster is the coolest thing in Victory Lane. I’ve been wanting to hold that (expletive) lobster for like 30 years. I’ve been wanting to hold that thing up from Victory Lane just because I saw guys doing it when I was growing up, and it was just the coolest thing ever.
Ryan Blaney said after New Hampshire race (Via Speedwaydigest.com).
Further talking about the point, the Ford racer pointed out that the lobster trophy has been something that caught his eye from day one and unfortunately, he couldn’t get to experience it earlier with his dad Dave Blaney winning it, but has finally made it himself. The good weather on Sunday played a role in his victory.
It’s funny like tracks have certain trophies that catches your eye as a kid, and this is one of them. That’s something I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid. Sorry for swearing. The lobster is cool, man. It’s so cool… I was lucky with the weather. Couldn’t ask for a better weekend.

Ryan Blaney credits Team Penske and Ford for the success
In the same interview, Ryan Blaney talked about the support from his team owner by Roger Penske. He pointed out the work done behind the doors by the Ford team played a significant role behind their win and thanked his crew for giving him a strong car, alongside his teammates.

Massive props to all of Team Penske, Wood Brothers. We did a great job leading up to this race and preparing, through the weekend, practice, qualifying in the race. Our cars are really fast. As a whole, like as a whole company. That’s something they should really be proud of.
Ryan Blaney said.
Furthermore, the veteran racer admitted that he was fortnunate to have such a fast car and highlighted that the strong runs from all of the Penske associated drivers showed how good the Mustangs were. He is proud of his team for giving him a fast car and proud of himself for capitalizing of the pace advantage.
I’m just in the fortunate situation I get to drive a fast race car. Yeah, it speaks volumes of the hard work that they’ve done, and I think for us to run first, Josh to run second, was Joey third or fourth? Top five, stage win, that’s a great day. Huge props to them. Couldn’t be prouder of them. It was nice we were able to capitalize on having such fast cars.
Ryan Blaney added.
The comments from the Penske driver shows the team now has the positive momentum to continue their dominance in the Next-Gen era. It would be interesting to see how Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano are going to perform in the remaining races of the season.
