NASCAR will hit the Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 and drivers will be going all out on the newly reconfigured track which takes away the intermediate track characteristics of it for Superspeedway one.

But some of the drivers are not yet over with last week’s race and among them is veteran Denny Hamlin who went out expressed his distaste for how the track played out. The Joe Gibbs racing star and 23X1 Racing owner finished the only at P13 after starting the race at P2 in Ruoff Mortgage 500. Denny Hamlin claimed there was a ‘sticky stuff’ which restricted the race to just one lane.

The sticky stuff made it a one-lane track. Phx is better than that when it’s not a freight train around the top,” Denny Hamlin wrote on his Twitter reacting to a post by Motorsport’s journalist Jeff Gluck about a fan poll of how successful the Phoenix race was.

Kaulig Racing president Chris Rice reacted to the decision saying “We respect NASCAR’s decision on the appeal. We will take the penalty, move on and work hard to be better,”.

Front Row Motorsports, crew chief Seth Barbour and crew members Jourdan Osinskie and Tanner Andrews will face suspension for the violation of Section 10.5.2.6 after a lost wheel incident at Auto Club Speedway.
