The start of the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series season saw Tyler Reddick winning five races, including a threepeat, that convinced many that he is going to end the year as the champion. He is now P7 in the table, with over 100 points behind the championship leader Kyle Larson, who secured a dominant win this Sunday.
Coming into this weekend the 23XI Racing driver was expected to make a comeback, as there no one better than the TRD team at Kansas Motor Speedway in the Next-Gen era. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find the right balance and that made him run outside the top-30 one points, before settling for P11. Post-race, the racer admitted that his team right now has some a big thing to figure out.
Yeah, I mean, we got big problems. We just gotta figure our own **** out right now, and just not even be worried about that.
Tyler Reddick said post-race.
They were fighting for their live throughout the race and never showed any signs of being in the contention despite the fact that they were the defending winners. Bristol was similar misery for Tyler Reddick and his crew. They have not found a real solution for their struggles yet.
Just trying to stay alive. I truly don’t know. That was a lot like last week, but even worse. It’s just very head-scratching how we’re that off.

Tyler Reddick reveals how lack of qualifying ruined their weekend
Later in the same conversation, the No:45 racer revealed one key reason behind their struggles at Kansas. The qualifying got rained out, hence they couldn’t identify the balance issue with teg car earlier. If they had made some practice lap, at least they couldn’t have secure more points.

I mean, somewhat, maybe, definitely balance helped us get better today. But even when I feel like, if I had to imagine when our car was at its best, it still wasn’t great — we’re still off.
Tyler Reddick asserted.
He insisted that they wasted the first two stages of their race because of the balance issue with the car. The veteran couldn’t understand how they went from dominating the season to, fighting for the lives within months.
I mean, it definitely could have helped us in Stage 1 or Stage 2 (to have qualifying), but I don’t know if we could have got where we needed to be in the race this weekend. I don’t know, it’s just so crazy to be that bad.
Tyler Reddick said.
The comments from the former two times second division champion driver are on point and shows how one small error in car development are going to ruin championship chase. It would be interesting to see how everything is going to playout for the star driver in the c0ming years,
