It was Bubba Wallace’s race to take in the last alp of Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 in Atlanta in a wild and chaotic where your experience or expertise mattered less when it came to who was the drivers to spin out or crash out,

Hendrick Motorsport’s William Byron became the 3ed driver from the team to secure a win this season after he held off Bubba Wallace who had the most enviable position going into the finish line, as he was in the right position to get the win with the helpful push for a slingshot on the final lap. But things work out perfectly for Byron as everyone behind Wallace started dueling for the position which didn’t give him the opportunity strike back.

Bubba Wallace who was on the outside approaching chequered flag thought he could get a shove by Ryan Blaney and he tried to execute the plan which backfired and forced him to end up loose and against the wall, losing several spots finishing in p13. Find out what Bubba Wallace had share on the disappointment.

Bubba Wallace acknowledged that he and his team wanted the win but they came up short in the final stretch saying “That’s where I wanted to be. …We came up short,” Bubba Wallace said. He went on to add his rival and winner William Byron got everything right when came to defending him and added he had a faster car.

I was trying to get a run-on Byron. He did a really good job, his car was fast, and he was lifting to kind of block the run, which was the right thing to do,” Bubba Wallace said.

Bubba Wallace went on to explain his crash saying he had a good run not to let eventual runners-up Ross Chastain not get inside but eventually he did and Wallace claimed that it was for the good then as he know they will stall out soon. He went on to add that things quickly went south after a bad timing challenge between him and Ryan Blaney of Penske racing which caused the crash that eventually ruined his dreams.

So, when the bottom [was] coming, I went down to block it and thought I had a good run to not let the 1 [of Ross Chastain] get inside, and he got inside, and it was all good because I knew they would stall out a little bit. And then it was just bad timing of when the 12 [of Blaney] and I got together. It looked like he hit the fence behind me, and I don’t know how I didn’t,” Bubba Wallace explained.
