Ron Hornaday Jr is a former stock car racing driver famous for his Truck Series career. He is the son of Ron Hornaday Sr, a two-time Winston West Champion. He is also the father of Ronnie Hornaday, a former NASCAR driver. NASCAR promised to go further than the Cup Series while adding 25 names to its list of the greatest drivers. And they kept their word. Ron Hornaday Jr is a four-time Truck Series champion and is the GOAT of the NASCAR Truck Series.

The king of the Truck Series was elected to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2018. He dominated the early years of the series. Ron Hornaday Jr. won six of the twenty races and finished third in the championship standings in 1995, the first year of the Truck Series. In the 1996 season, he won four races and his first championship. Hornaday had 18 top-5 and 23 top-10 finishes in the 24 races held that season.

Ron Hornaday Jr also won the Truck Series championship in 1998, 2007, and 2009. His first two titles in 1996 and 1998 were with Dale Earnhardt, and his 2007 and 2009 crowns were with his best friend Kevin Harvick. He drove the No.6 GM Chevy. Hornaday ran 360 races over 17 years in the Truck Series. He had 51 wins, 234 top tens, and 27 poles. 

Apart from Truck Series, Hornaday also competed in the Xfinity Series.  He had 185 races run over 14 years. With four wins and 70 top-ten finishes, and 1 pole, he ended his NASCAR Xfinity Series career. His Cup Series was not as successful as his Truck Series career. However, he only ran 46 races over 11 years. Hornaday is the 1992 and 1993 Featherlite Southwest Tour Champion.

Hornaday was named the Busch Series Most Popular Driver in 2000. In 1997 and 2005, he won the Craftsman Truck Series Most Popular Driver award. He was also inducted into NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2018. The NASCAR fans are delighted with Hornday’s induction into the Greatest Drivers list.
