Chandler Smith’s team Kyle Busch Motorsports may have prevailed at this weeks’ race in Atlanta with Corey Heim emerging victorious but the No.18 Toyota Tundra driver says otherwise during the interview succeeding the race. The KBM dominated track had some surprises on hand for the 19 year old as his teammate went against teams pre race decision costing him a win.

Though Chandler Smith had already secured a spot in the playoffs, he seemed pretty upset as to how the events turned out to be since Corey Heim, being a part-time driver isn’t eligible for playoffs and it took a toll on Chandler’s chances of having a better lead s ahead of his rival Tanner Gray. Following this, the championship leader had some very strong statements on his teammate, the No.4 Toyota Tundra driver John Hunter Nemechek’s decisions as he pushed Corey Heim to the win.

Chandler Smith was really intrigued by the fact that the No.4 driver had come out of nowhere all of a sudden pushing Corey Heim to the lead and also stealing Smith’s chance of stealing a better pole instead of P4. He was frustrated with John Hunter blocking everyone who had a chance while he was a lap down. If he didn’t shove into Corey Heim, Chandler Smith is pretty confident that the results would’ve been different.

“… A lap truck just shoved the guy out that won and then blocked everybody else that had a run too. Like I get it: We’re teammates. You’re trying to help him out. But you f***** your other teammate. Whatever,” Chandler Smith said during the after-race interview.

He further added, following the turn-out of the race, Chandler Smith was really desperate to speak to his teammates about what had happened out there and that it was really irritating for him as his fellow teammates weren’t on-board with him and he kept getting screwed over after a point leaving him utterly distraught.

“We didn’t even relatively even try to do that today. So, it’s just really irritating because I’m a big believer and we’ve got to do that. We’ve got to do that. I mean, I was all on board with it all day and then it comes to a point where I keep getting screwed over,” said Chandler Smith.

Now that Chandler Smith still has the lead, will he end up moving further up the points table?
