Natalie Decker made her first Truck Series starts since 2022 at Dover Motor Speedway, hoping for a solid race. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst race of her career and she made it into the spotlight for all the wrong reason. The No:22 Team Reaume Ford driver ended the race at P34, as she was forced to park her truck after NASCAR black flagged her due to being slow.
It wasn’t her pace that media attention, instead it was her radio meltdown. The racer lost her confidence after getting multiple penalties (speeding and race start violation) and shared her frustration on team radio in a rant that was laced with profanity. It was an uncomfortable moment for everyone involved, as the racer was in tears.
You guys, I’m trying to hold my s— together, but I don’t want to keep doing this…There’s just so many s—– things that I could say right now, and I’m just trying to keep it together, about the f—ing director of the series.

The owner of the Truck Series season Josh Reaume got involved after the meltdown, and asked Natalie Decker to get the car back to the garage as she was visibly uncomfortable with the situation. The female raced initially refused to comply and continued the outburst.
JR: Let’s remember what’s on our truck, and just bring it to the garage, right?
ND: I feel like a f—ing failure if I do that. There’s so many things I want to say and I’m probably going to get f—ing suspended, you have no idea.

Then after sometime, she came back to the garage to park the Truck and on the radio told her boss that she is done with the third division and will now only race in the second division (O’Reilly Auto Parts Series). She also talked about the hate she gets online form a set of the NASCAR fandom.
I’m sorry Josh, I’m not going to come back to the Truck Series. I’m staying in the O’Reilly Series, this series f—ing su**s. The amount of hate I’m going to get online for this is just going to be insane. I’m not ready.
Natalie Decker admitted.
Natalie Decker shared her emotion with a post on social media
After the race, Decker tried to explained herself with a post on Instagram. She highlighted how disappointed she is with the race results and admitted that the penalties ruined the day for her. The racer didn’t had the composure to move on and perform in the event.

I got a penalty at the drop of the green flag, I pulled out of line before the finish line, when serving that penalty I got another one for speeding on pit road. I am not going to lie I am really disappointed in myself because after all those penalties mentally I never recovered.
Natalie Decker posted on Instagram.
Later she admitted that she is bracing herself for the hate coming her way and promised that she will work hard behind to the scene to get herself ready to perform better in the similar mentally taxing situation. She is hoping that she can face the challenges ahead with a smile on her face.
I know there is going to be a lot of hate around my last to weekends racing and nothing you can say is worse then how hard I am on myself right now. But I am going to push myself to get through this and control what I can control moving forward and show up to my next race with a smile on my face and fire in me to keep doing what I love.
Natalie Decker added.
It was one of the most disappointing days of the racer’s life and it will always remain as a black stain in her career. This might also affect her prospects of securing new sponsors and racing opportunity in the coming years in NASCAR.
