Nate Diaz got his first-ever boxing win against former rival Jorge Masvidal in a boxing bout. The fight took place at Honda Center in California and the arena was filled with supporters. Diaz and Masvidal managed to put on a great show, however, Diaz did miss having his elder brother Nick Diaz by his side.
Nate Diaz showed his incredible pressure and volume striking and kept it up the whole fight. On the other hand, Jorge Masvidal kept looking for counters and was explosive with his approach. At the end of ten rounds, Diaz was declared the winner via majority decision. However, according to Diaz, the results would have been different if his brother Nick Diaz had been in his corner.

Going into the fight both Diaz and Masvidal indulged in extreme trash talking which led to a brawl between both teams. Nevertheless, Nate was able to take his revenge against Masvidal who beat to win the UFC BMF title in 2019. After that, the fighter immediately called out another former rival, Leon Edwards for a boxing bout. However, the welterweight champion has yet to respond.
Although Nate Diaz won the fight, he as well as fans would have loved Nick cornering Nate like the old times. Nick Diaz has been in Nate Diaz’s corner for most of his MMA career. Together both created a legacy that will be extremely hard to replicate by any other fighting duo in the future. With Nick’s absence, Nate was able to give updates about his brother’s UFC return later this year.

In his prime, Nick Diaz was one of the most talented fighters on the UFC roster. He was able to gain incredible attention from fans due to his personality and weird fighting style. However, the fighter had a five-year ban which completely derailed his professional career. Nick made his UFC comeback in 2021 against Robbie Lawler and devastatingly lost the fight.
Three years later, Diaz is back and will take on Vicente Luque in a welterweight bout. Ahead of the Jorge Masvidal fight, Diaz was asked about his brother. The fighter confirmed that Nick was fighting in August. According to Diaz, Nick deserves this shot.

Nick Diaz has also made the official announcement on his social media accounts and it has created curiosity among fight fans. Many were skeptical about Diaz’s age and being able to fight against someone like Luque. All questions will be answered in August as Diaz gears up for his 39th MMA bout.
