Nate Diaz has a straightforward approach and a blunt persona. In the past, Diaz has shown his disinterest in press conferences. This time, he made a dramatic exit from the final stop of his press tour with Jorge Masvidal. The Stockton native’s abrupt departure came after just 18 minutes.
This left Masvidal and the assembled media in a state of bewilderment. Jorge Masvidal‘s team was engaging in a war of words with fans in attendance. At the moment, Diaz seemed to have reached his limit, as he suddenly declared his intention not to continue with the press conference any more. Soon, he walked off stage by delivering a stellar line.
It was a fun tour going out here and all this s*** all over f****** USA. I’m done with all this s***...I don’t want to do none of this. I never did want to do any of it.“F*** this n***a and f*** his team, bro. I’m out. I gotta go. Square off with yourself motherf*****.Nate Diaz at the press conference
Diaz’s parting shot at Masvidal will undoubtedly go down as one of the greatest in combat sports lore. A visibly perplexed Masvidal asked Nate Diaz to show up to the fight. Their highly anticipated pay-per-view showdown on June 1st in Los Angeles just got a whole lot spicier.
In the past, Diaz infamously walked out of a press conference with Conor McGregor. Soon, both McGregor and Diaz started throwing water bottles at each other. More recently, the Stockton star walked out of the press conference ahead of his bout against Jake Paul for a bathroom break. As such, one should expect Diaz to do the unthinkable anytime and anywhere.
Jorge Masvidal feels that Nate Diaz is broken
Masvidal recently revealed a curious observation about his opponent’s mindset. Both fighters will square off after almost five years. According to Masvidal, Diaz’s demeanor throughout their press tour suggested a distinct lack of enthusiasm for the entire promotional affair.
Masvidal talked to MMA Fighting recently about Diaz’s behavior throughout the press tour. Masvidal and Diaz visited four places to promote their boxing bout. ‘Gamebred’ expressed concerns about Diaz’s mental health after their whole interaction through the build-up.
Every single time that we were there, I always felt that he didn’t want to be there… I can see the look in his eyes like he was more confident. I feel like he is somewhat broken.Jorge Masvidal via MMA Fighting
It remains to be seen if Masvidal’s comments hold any weight. In the past, Diaz had an awkward style of speaking and a lack of interest in participating in promotional events. The Stockton star always keeps himself active with training and triathlon activities. As such, one can expect Diaz to come in tip-top shape, but the mental aspect of Diaz’s game remains a mystery.
