Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor‘s rivalry is widely recognized as one of the most intense in UFC history. The two have battled twice and provided fans with exciting action inside the UFC octagon. Given their rivalry, both have a strong love-hate relationship, which appears to have remained that way.

Nate Diaz recently sat down with NBA legends Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes on the All the Smoke Productions podcast. During the conversation, Diaz was asked about his rivalry with Conor McGregor. While responding to the question, in the most Diaz way he mentioned that McGregor is good but he would still fight him later.

I think he's cool but f**** him. I'm offering him the fight. Either way is fine. I would like to fight him in the MMA (or boxing)

The Stockton native was the first fighter to stop McGregor’s undefeated run in the promotion at UFC 196. In the rematch at UFC 202, McGregor bounced back and took a majority decision victory. When asked about whether the trilogy fight would be a boxing bout or MMA, Diaz revealed that it doesn’t matter to him.

Diaz is currently busy promoting his upcoming boxing bout with old rival Jorge Masvidal. Going into the fight, former UFC fighters have indulged in quite a serious rivalry. The fight was originally scheduled to take place in June but due to clashing dates with UFC 302, the promoters had to move the event. Given the popularity of both fighters, the PPV is expected to make some great sales. However, when it comes to fighting money, it wasn’t the same as earlier in their career.

However, according to Diaz, he was getting very little money for the fight. The fighter recently did a podcast with UFC legend, Demetrious Johnson where he talked about the whole McGregor saga. Diaz revealed that he negotiated with Dana White to give him more money than what the promotion was offering.

At the time, it was (the biggest paycheck).  But they were trying to give me pennies for that too. I was like, ‘Yeah, right. I know what I’m doing here. I’ve been through it.’ So they called me and they were like, ‘Hey, while you’re going to do this, we’re going to give you a million dollars.’ I was like, ‘Hey, you’re gonna give me more than that.'

That fight paved the way for Diaz’s superstar status and later he became part of various top PPV events in the promotion. Currently, the fighter is focused on his boxing career. However, the McGregor trilogy fight is something that will always be on the table for Diaz.
