Anthony Davis is one of the most famous players in the NBA. In his college days, he played for Kentucky, where he led his team in scoring as well as blocks. Drafted number #1 by the New Orleans Hornets, now known as Pelicans, in 2012, Davis saw early fame in his career. He played for the Pelicans from 2012-2018. He established himself as one of the best defenders and shot blockers in the league while being the face of the Pelican team. He’s made the All-Defensive team and the All-NBA team four times.
Better known as the Brow, Davis played his best going into his fifth NBA season. AD was definitely in his prime in the last couple of seasons playing for the Pelicans. And to utilize his talents best, he requested a trade in the middle of the season. This decision of his led to quite some backlash, though it was for his best to move to title contending team. He was then traded to the Lakers in 2019 joining LeBron James. And so he got his wish, AD won his first ring with the Lakers in 2020.

Anthony Davis Current Contract Breakdown
The 2019 trade sent Davis to the Lakers in exchange for Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, DeAndre Hunter, and $1 million to the Pelicans. After his rookie maximum extension expired Davis signed his most expensive contract with the Lakers. In December 2020, AD signed a maximum extension with the Lakers, a 5-year $189.9 million contract. At the time this was one of the most expensive contracts signed by an NBA player. The contract also includes a 2024 early termination option. Under this contract, Davis will earn a guaranteed $189,903,600. The Lakers can re-sign Davis as well as they hold his Bird rights.

AD came into the league in 2012 when he signed his rookie contract with the New Orleans Hornets. As a rookie, Davis signed a four-year deal with New Orleans worth $23.2 million in 2012. Being the first pick, the amount was sufficient for the center a decade ago. Though Davis would later sign a maximum rookie extension of 5-year $127.2 million.
