After the Minnesota Timberwolves completely embarrassed Russell Westbrook with their trash-talk, the former MVP seems to be all charged up to lead the Lakers against the Raptors in their latest matchup. From knocking a game-tying 3-pointer to breaking the opposition defense in OT, Brodie did seem to have his best outing in the Lakers’ uniform, which was rightly spotted by Kendrick Perkins as well.
Brodie registered 22 points against his name, but made significant move on either ends of the court, helping the Lakers on the offensive end majorly in the dying moments. With Anthony Davis out, Westbrook’s rise to prime form can be crucial if the Lakers are trying to overturn their depleted 2021-22 NBA Season.

“This has to be Russell Westbrook best game in a Lakers uniform. He was under control for the most part, shot efficient from the field, couple of key defensive stops and a big time 3 pointer to send into OT! Carry the hell on….” said Kendrick Perkins.
That being said, just as Kendrick Perkins emphasized, the eye test really worked in Russell Westbrook’s favor in this one. He was poised and didn’t force the issue on anything while LeBron James led the offense with his usually efficient self. When the time was right, Brodie made the biggest play of the game for the Lakers, stripping the ball in the dying seconds of regulation and hitting the game-tying three to force overtime.
Russell Westbrook has redeemed himself for one night. Now it’s time to see if he keeps trending in the right direction to help LeBron James and the Lakers salvage what many feel has become a lost season.
Lastly, with the Lakers still having top-teams to battle it out with, until the regular season comes to an end. They would surely be keen on focusing upon the best starting 5 and the best form of each other player, so that they can be a force to reckon with after the regular season. The primary question being, has Westbrook come to the party for Lakers? Remains to be seen.
