Billy Donovan’s Wife: All you need to know about Christine D‘Auria

Billy Donovan is the head coach of the Chicago Bulls. He has been in the job since September of 2022. Before this he was head coach of the OKC Thunder and guided them to 5 consecutive playoff appearances. With a win rate of .608 with OKC, Donovan was one of the most successful coaches in the league.

Outside of Basketball, Donovan is married to Chistine D’Auria. She was born in Port Washington, Long Island, New York to her parents, Mr. Anthony J. D’Auria and Mrs. Patricia Ann Connor D’Auria.

Christine and Billy both went to Providence College. There, both of them majored in general and social studies. The Donovans still have a deep connection with Providence College. They donated $1 million in 2018 for the construction of a practice court for the basketball team. The said court is also named after the current Bulls Head Coach.

Christine D’Auria’s personal life and story of the couple

Christine was a fourth-grade teacher. After graduating Providence, she got her master’s in elementary education from C.W. Post campus of Long Island University. Donovan and D’Auria were opposite to each other in nature. She was outgoing and a social animal whereas Billy was shy. They had some mutual friends but didn’t know each other. They met at the wedding of one of those mutual friends in 1988 and Billy asked her out. A little over a year later they themselves got married.

Billy Donovan was obsessed with a career in basketball, if he couldn’t play it, he wanted to be a coach in the NBA. His Providence Coach, Rick Pitino gave him a chance as a reserve with the Knicks for a season and then Donovan followed him to the University of Kentucky in 1989. Donovan worked as a graduate assistant coach under Pitino at Kentucky while D’Auria taught children in a school in Lexington.

The couple have 4 children together. William Donovan II was born on February 10th, 1992. Billy and Christine have 2 daughters, Hasbrouck Anne Donovan born in 1994 and Connor Donovan born in 2002; as well as another son: Bryan Donovan born in 1997.

Sports and the Providence connections run deep in the family. William played basketball under Billy at the University of Florida. He has since worked in the G-League as an assistant coach for the Austin Spurs as well as in the NBA for the Chicago Bulls under his dad. Hasbrouck won a national championship in equestrian at Auburn.

She did her Bachelor’s in Science, Family, Youth, and Community Sciences at the University of Florida. Bryan was on the basketball team of Bishop McGuiness High School all of his 4 years there. He then went to Providence College but transferred to Roger Williams University. Connor attended the same high school as Bryan and is currently at Providence College.
