Los Angeles Lakers feel the boos in their home turf

Los Angeles Lakers suffer a 123-95 loss to the Pelicans

This season the Los Angeles Lakers have been a team where expectations have been high from them and have failed inexcusably to live up to the task. A team that consists of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis, Carmelo Anthony, and Malik Monk, have been disastrous in the league. It is one hell of a scary roster, but they have been disappointing everyone this season. A team filled with veterans who are beyond their prime but still have a lot of experience to turn the game around. The question that comes to mind is that are they a team that gets in their zone when playing the game or are they just on a vacation with the Lakers?

In the loss against the New Orleans Pelicans, and a game at home, one would expect their team to put up a fighting attitude and not just give away the game. The Laker fans were shocked at what they were witnessing, the team was disconnected from the game altogether. The team gave away 16 turnovers in the first half and 23 by the end of the game! A damning analysis of what the Lakers were putting up on the night. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook gave 14 turnovers combined.

Richard Jefferson takes a dig at LeBron James and Russell Westbrook

Richard Jefferson on LeBron and Russ after the boos from fans

Richard Jefferson was one of the persons in attendance for the Lakers v Pelicans game, with him he brought his 2 kids for the match. He was disappointed for bringing his kids over for the match and was shocked like everyone when the Lakers gave away 16 turnovers in the first half. Both his kids showed different reactions when his youngest brought a Lakers hat and once he asked his 7-year-old if he wants a hat, he straight up said NO and didn’t even want to watch the game anymore, much like the other in attendance.

The Team played a poor game and were rightfully Booed by the fans at full time, Russell Westbrook was asked after the game if it bothered him, “Take it home for what? Sh*t can’t take it home, I got three beautiful kids at my home, I ain’t taking it home, they are booing they can take it home”, said Russell Westbrook. LeBron James also was asked about it, “ I don’t have an answer for tonight, I mean obviously we talk about the future, I don’t that’s for all of us to figure out I mean I don’t know?” said LeBron James, “this season is definitely different” LeBron added.

Richard Jefferson was full of smiles before the game but his face was the total opposite during the game, with the fans booing he had some words which is quite true for the Lakers roster, “ Let me just answer the question about the boos and my, look everyone here has played sports, most of these guys have played the highest level of basketball since 15 years old, boos do not bother us, like yeah for faintest disrespectful, boos don’t bother us, our performance bothers us. That is why we are getting booed, it has nothing if the whole crowd is booing us,” said Jefferson after the focus was shifted from their performance, to what the fans were reacting to their performance.
