Bucks’ Grayson Allen gets suspended 1 game for a foul that caused Alex Caruso’s broken wrist

Grayson Allen
The NBA suspended Milwaukee Bucks guard Grayson Allen one game for his Flagrant 2 foul on Bulls guard Alex Caruso. The foul made Caruso crack his wrist, a physical issue that will require a medical procedure, Chicago said Saturday.
Allen will serve his suspension Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Allen swiped at Caruso in midair on a play in the second from the last quarter of Friday’s down. Authorities evaluated him as a Flagrant 2 and catapulted him. The NBA referred to it as “pointless and unreasonable contact.”

Bucks mentor Mike Budenholzer shielded Allen on Saturday, saying he doesn’t “want that for any of our opponents, for anybody, but there was nothing that was done intentionally.” Bulls mentor Billy Donovan was more disparaging of the play Friday. Caruso will miss six weeks to about two months recuperating from a medical procedure.

“It was really bad,” Donovan said. “It was really, really bad. We lost Patrick (Williams) on a flagrant foul to a pretty significant injury. And I said this after the game against New York and Mitchell Robinson, I think Mitchell Robinson was trying to make a legitimate play on the basketball. It happened to be a flagrant. There’s times there’s flagrant fouls. But for Alex to be in the air like that and for him (Allen) to take him down like that. I mean, he could have ended his career. And he has a history of this. It was really dangerous. And I hope the league takes a hard look at something like that because he could have really, seriously hurt him.”

The Bucks put out an announcement Sunday saying the group contradicts the suspension. “We support Grayson and look forward to him rejoining our team for Friday’s game vs. New York,” Milwaukee said.
Friday denoted the initial time this season Allen, who is in his first season with the Bucks, has been required a glaring foul and just the second time in his NBA profession. In 2019, he was catapulted from a Summer League game for getting two blatant fouls promptly after one another.

The suspension will cost Allen a $27,963 game check, as per reports. However, the injury doesn’t create any implications for the life of Alex Caruso. The injury will probably increase the pressure on the Bulls in the coming future games.
