Recently a major national controversy erupted between Lakers striker LeBron James and former Lakers legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar who criticized the 6’8 star on Sunday night before his company lost the game by 129-118 against the Nuggets. Jabbar believes the current LA star has a huge responsibility in his conduct when it comes to his high profile.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar was present at the court to honor Carmelo Anthony as NBA Social Justice Champion for his role in the 2020-21 season. But it seems he was unhappy with some of LeBron James’ past actions and did not back down from condemning him before the purple and gold game.

In this statement, the Lakers legend has refereed some of the past acts of LBJ that he believes are not appropriate for GOAT to do. Earlier, Jabbar criticized the Lakers star upfront for his big ball dance during the OT victory over the Pacers in November. He also expressed opposition to the memes shared by James showing 3 Spidermen with the word “Cold, Flu, and Covid” in reference.

In the wake of Abdul Jabbar’s controversial statement, many NBA veterans and sports commentators have expressed their views and there is no doubt that the Undisputed crew will hold back. In the latest episode of the Undisputed podcast, host Shannon Sharpe expressed his outrage over Kareem’s critical statement to LeBron James.

“We didn’t hear these harsh critiques and these criticisms of LeBron when he was at twenty-five thousand thirty thousand,” Shannon Sharpe said. “It wasn’t until he started getting ultra-close to Kareem’s record, I don’t know if he just started watching LeBron once he got to the Lakers but LeBron has always been an animated player he’s always flexed his muscles when he’s got an and.. yep he’s shrugged and showed you scooby, shook him off me he’s always done it from year on so now all of a sudden it seemed to be a problem with Kareem.”

“Come on Kareem, this should be beneath you,” Sharpe said. “It seems very odd that you would pick this opportunity to take a shot like this.”

Sharpe raised the question of why Lakers Legend Kareem Abdul Jabbar passed those statements when LeBron James was just 1300 points behind to surpass him on the NBA’s all-time leading scorer list. However, it is disappointing to see Legend using such a cheap shot at a player who will soon be replacing him on the NBA’s top scorer list.
