DeMar DeRozan breaks Chicago Bulls franchise record set by Michael Jordan

With players like Zach LaVine and Lonzo Ball in the team, it is the veteran DeMar DeRozan who seems to be leading the newly-shaped Chicago Bulls in the NBA 2021-22 Season. There is no denying that the arrival of the 32-years-old has brought great energy into the Windy City and it finally seems like Chicago Bulls could a championship calibre team. In the process, he broke a record set by Michael Jordan.
DeMar DeRozan was once again busy getting buckets on Sunday night at home against the New York Knicks. The four-time All-Star led the way once again for his new team which has now put him at the top of the franchise record books as the player with most points in his first 16 games in Chicago with 425, to surpass Michael Jordan’s 424 which he did back in his rookie season in 1984-1985.

To say that the current season’s Chicago Bulls are making a dent in the league is definitely an understatement. This team, spearheaded by DeRozan, Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine, have been making a historic run in the 2021-22 season as they try to rebuild the Bulls franchise and earn some respect as a legitimate top team in the Eastern Conference.

Despite being relatively new, this rebuilt Chicago squad has been one of the most surprising stories in the NBA so far this season and DeRozan has been a huge part of this evolution.
Win after win, the Chicago Bulls have proven that they’re a team not to be taken lightly and DeMar DeRozan’s current form is something that the league should be genuinely afraid of.
