Fred VanVleet makes honest revelation about making his first career triple-double against lackluster Utah Jazz
Fred VanVleet
Fred VanVleet scored his career’s first triple-double in a nail-biting game against the Utah Jazz. He made history for the Raptors in a losing game which eventually led the team to victory in the end. Although the Jazz’s core players were absent in the game, their rookie and the new players played well and brought some initial lead in the game.
But, VanVleet has come with a different mindset for this game; he scored 24 out of 37 points in the third quarter which depleted the lead between the Raptors and the Jazz. His 24 points in a quarter were just one point behind Pascal Siakam’s franchise record of 25. VanVleet showed his full strength in the game by dropping deep three-pointers, mid-range shooting, and layups.

Aggressive Fred VanVleet takes down the Utah Jazz
VanVleet after scoring every point was looking hungrier and more aggressive to get them. He grilled his teammates during the defense to steal the ball from the Jazz. Talking about this in the press conference he said, “I didn’t have any energy left, but you just keep going and being aggressive. You gotta win by any means possible. I was thinking, ‘It was gonna be a long 36, 48 hours or whatever until Sunday if we drop that one. … I was proud of the way we responded as a team.”
VanVleet further added, “I really thought it was the defense, to be honest with you, just picking up full court, trying to generate some aggressiveness. I mean, they came out and punched us right in the mouth. Give those guys credit. It got outta control there. Just trying to get the reins on it a little bit and we were able to do that. We made a run, they made a run back but it started to feel better.”

Fred VanVleet out scores Vince Carter and Damon Stoudamire
Fred VanVleet’s 37 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists triumph is now the highest-scoring triple-double in Toronto Raptors franchise history with this record he has topped the shortlist of the franchise and has out-scored Vince Carter (31 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) and Damon Stoudamire (30 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists) after scoring at least 30 points prior with a triple-double in a game.
The Toronto Raptors are currently at the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference and have currently recorded a score of 19-17. But seems like VanVleet’s new way of moving the game will prove to be efficient for them in the upcoming games.
