The loop of the same question has started yet again on “Whether Kyrie Irving will get vaccinated or not?”

The Brooklyn Nets have lost their fifth consecutive match at Barclays Center against the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday with a score of 121-109. Kyrie Irving is still unvaccinated, and as per the New York vaccine mandate, no player without vaccination is allowed to play in front of a crowd of more than 10000 people. Hence, Kyrie has to sit out of all the home games until and unless he doesn’t get vaccinated.

It seems that the absence of Kyrie Irving at home game is affecting the Brooklyn Nets, talking about it during the post-game press conference Kevin Durant revealed that he had a conversation with Irving about his importance to the team and his full-time presence on the court is the key to NBA championship for the Nets.

After the loss against the Milwaukee Bucks, in the post-game conversation with media Kevin Durant talked about his teammate Irving’s importance to the Nets. He said, “I told him how important he is, how much I want him to play—play every game. But I’m not about to force somebody to get a vaccine like that’s not my thing. So, he can play basketball? Nah, I’m not about to do that.”

Durant further added, “Whatever decision he makes, he’s gonna make, “It’s on us to come in here and be professionals no matter what, handle it and do our jobs, all of us from owner down to equipment manager, you know what I’m saying? So, whenever he’s ready, he’ll be ready.”

KD also said that he hasn’t asked Kyrie Irving about the reasons why he has chosen to remain unvaccinated or why he is against the Covid-19 vaccines.

“I ain’t even ask for an explanation. That ain’t my place I don’t think, so I’m ready for whatever,” Durant said. “That’s my whole mentality. Whatever happens in this situation, I’ve gotta still be me, still go out there and represent the way I represent, so I’m supporting whatever my team needs me to do and wants to do.”

Later, KD added “It’s a weird situation. Who knows? You know what I’m saying? I don’t understand most of this shit: COVID, all of this shit been crazy the last few years, so me? I just try to stay centered and focus on me, and when Kyrie’s ready to make decisions for himself, he will and I trust that.”

Harden had no conversation with Irving

While even James Harden said that he has not discussed any of this issue with Kyrie Irving. “He knows that. He knows that. He knows that. Nah (I haven’t said anything to him),” harden said.

Kyrie Irving played his first game of the season against Indiana Pacers on Wednesday and went to score 22 points without any hesitation. It didn’t feel like he has not played the game for a while as even his movements and footwork were not rusty at all. He has become the hope for the Nets to come out the loop of consecutive losing games.
