Karl Anthony Towns has simply been sensational for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2021-22 season. Not only has he kept his team in the playoff contention, Timberwolves have witnessed a great rise in form from last season, and a large share of it goes to KAT and Anthony Edwards. Not only has the former been an All-Star this season, but now is indeed the 3-point contest winner as well.
Entering the contest on Saturday, Karl Anthony Towns was surely one of favorites to win but with the likes of Zach LaVine, Trae Young and Luke Kennard also present, one never knew is KAT was able to live up to his hype of greatest ever big man shooter. But as things turn out, the Minnesota Timberwolves representative did silence his critics by winning the accolade in the most impressive manner.

Karl Anthony Towns wins 3-Point Contest
In the first round, Karl Anthony Towns could only manage to score 22 points, but still secured his spot when Patty Mills missed his money balls, to make the advantage count against his name. Trae Young being the last shooter in the first round, also scored 22 points, to set a tie-score alongside KAT. While Luke Kennard scored the highest tally of 28 points in the first round.
In the final showdown, KAT went first and indeed built pressure on Trae Young and Kennard after knocking 29 staggering points. Young going next, did have a chance to surpass KAT but missed his clutch DEW Balls to add 3-points, which could’ve resulted in him winning.
That being said, after KAT won the 3-Point Contest, he surely has added to his claim of being the greatest ever big man shooter. Something, which Shaq agreed upon, sitting on the sidelines. Now, all eyes will be on the last event of the day- Dunk Contest, which surely will have all the attention. Who’s your money on among the four deadly dunkers?
