San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich gives his honest advice to Keldon Johnson after he missed a game-winning layup against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Spurs are giving a tough fight to the Lakers to get the 10th spot in the west so that they can make it into the play-in tournament. But their recent loss as again pushed them half-game behind and down to 11th seed which might become the reason for their elimination.

Gregg Popovich made a great plan of miss direction so that Keldon Johnson can get the opportunity to score and take the lead in the last few seconds. Coach Pop’s plan was almost successful but Johnson failed to execute it as he missed an easy layup and the ball rimmed out. Even though the team failed to execute the plan coach Pop has no harsh words for them but praised them for their great effort.

Gregg Popovich wants the Spurs to move on and prepare for the next battle on Friday

At the postgame conference. Coach Pop discussed Keldon Johnson’s miss during the crucial moment, where he encouraged the entire Spurs team to learn from the experience and even asked the team to move on and prepare for the next upcoming game against Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.

“I was really proud of them,” Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said. “They just have to understand the mental part of the game the physicality, and both the execution and making mistakes and then the physical nature of the competitiveness that’s required. So, the difference in the first and second halves where the differences were pretty obvious so we played with grunt take no prisoners sort of attitude great stuff in the second half took care of the ball better executed”

Pop added, “At the end, executed the last play very well, it didn’t go in, and like I told them if that’s the worst thing that ever happens in your life, you’re gonna live a pretty easy life so get over it and come and play Friday screw that but I’m proud of them was great good stuff great growing experience for them against a hell of a team.”

As he now stands on the top all alone with 1,336 wins as a Head Coach while being crowned as the best ever to do it. Moreover, it is expected that the man who helped the Spurs to win five championships will soon take the decision on his retirement.
