The most recent feat achieved by LeBron James was to climb up to 2nd in the NBA All-time Scoring list, passing Karl Malone. The celebrations for the Kings achievement are on their way, but Skip Bayless does not back the celebrations and believes there is something else in play for the King.

LeBron James has had a season to remember individually, and not collectively with the team. With the game against the Washington Wizards, the Lakers succumbed to another loss, LeBron James made history by becoming the 2nd player on the list of the NBA All-time scoring list, which saw Karl Malone’s place is now occupied by the King LeBron James. Even after the loss against the Wizards, LeBron James’ club had something to celebrate. The King in the loss against the Wizards scored 38 points, 6 assists, and 10 rebounds.

LeBron James is the only player in history to have scored 30,000 points, 10,000 assists, and 10,000 rebounds. On top of that, though the Lakers are playing horrible this season, the King has been dragging the Lakers all along, and the numbers he is putting up justify his frustrations with the Lakers, especially the naysayers, and critics. LeBron James is averaging 30.0 points, 6.3 assists, and 8.2 rebounds. With him averaging 30.0 points, he is leading the race for the scoring title this season, he is ahead of Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo. He is doing this by playing lesser games than anybody in the league.

Skip Bayless had his say on ‘the Skip Bayless Show’, “I have no doubt that you think I hammer away at LeBron far too much. But you know what? Somebody has to tell the objective truth about the master media manipulator that is LeBron James. He is the king of media manipulation. He is the king of setting the narrative that enhances his stature.” With all that LeBron James is delivering in his 19th season, Skip Bayless has yet again found a way to criticize LeBron James. Bayless thinks that LeBron James is manipulating people and setting narratives, to show off his greatness, or make him look better than anybody else. Game changes from time, LeBron sure was not a great shooter, but that’s what great players do they change to sustain longer, and that’s how records are broken, something which Skip Bayless can’t get because he is too stuck criticizing LeBron James.

Skip Bayless, nevertheless, goes on to compare LeBron and Karl’s stats of 3-point shooting, “Karl Malone in his 19-year career made 85 3-pointers … LeBron has made 2,129. That means LeBron has scored 6,132 more points from 3 than Karl did. Well, that’s a huge advantage, because obviously last time I checked three is greater than two.” It is always an advantage, that is agreed, but that is what needed to be done by LeBron James to chase them, a great athlete finds ways to go ahead, not stick with the same and remain stagnant. Bayless is right there is a huge difference between the two but let’s not forget, LeBron James has surpassed those players as well who are regarded as great shooters in the history of the NBA. That just simply goes on to speak volumes about what kind of a player LeBron James is. Greatness requires change and that is what LeBron James does.
