Trae Young has been named in the NBA All-Star Starter for  2nd time in 4 years and he didn’t hold back and tweeted about it, thanking the fans, and firing shots at Charles Barley in a hilarious fashion.

The Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has been selected as an All-Star starter for just the 2nd time in four years for this season’s All-Star game after he missed out last year. His performance this season has been phenomenal and is currently one of the best point guards in the league. This is Trae Young’s first starting position in an All-Star team, the Hawks, however, do not have a good record that is 22-25, they are on a hot run of winning streak, winning 5 games in a row.

Charles Barkley AKA Chuck is Hall-of-Famer and has made a reputation for himself for giving bad takes and was not in terms about the fact that Trae Young has been selected. Guess what, one of the best trash talkers in the league took to social media to fire some shot at him, Trae Young came out saying, “Chuck, eat a Twinkie and be quiet sometimes”.

This response from Trae young was in response to the analysis done by the Hall-of-Famer before the Atlanta Hawks played the Milwaukee Bucks, where Chuck used some glamorous words to troll the Atlanta Hawks team, “I’m thinking the Hawks are that pretty girl whose makeup came off and she’s ugly. That’s what the Hawks are.” He spoke. Chuck must have been surprised after the game because that game Trae Young dropped 30 points, 11 assists, and 4 rebounds. The Hawks won the game against the Bucks by 121-114.

Is an All-Star justified and can he carry the Hawks?

Trae Young can have a tough competition to be replaced by James Harden and Zach Lavine. The Beard is arguably one of the top players in the NBA for quite some time, he is averaging triple-doubles and has been averaging the highest assists per game in the NBA by 10 assists.

Zach Lavine is also a strong contender where he is averaging 25 -points per game. His efficiency in shooting is from the top level. Trae Young is out of the three, the most efficient players and have better stats to back them up, certainly where the other two are lacking, so it is fair to say that Trae Young being a starter is justified.

Atlanta Hawks are good on the offensive side of the court, but what good is it if you can’t stop opponents from scoring points on the defensive end of the court. In all honesty, the Hawks defensive record is one of the worst in the league and is 27th in the defensive ranking. With such an average defense it is difficult to consider the Hawks to be challenging for the championship, there need to be changes made if things are not looking solid defensively.
