New Orleans Pelicans marquee Zion Williamson was considered to be the upcoming face of the league when he stepped on the court in his Rookie Season. However, after the franchise built a team around him, the 2021-22 season hasn’t been the perfect route for the power-packed player. Not only has he been side-lined, but stars like Ja Morant and Luka Doncic have completely overshadowed the presence of Zanos.
Before the start of the 2021-22 season, Zion Williamson was struck by a devastating setback, courtesy of his foot injury. The latest update on it suggests that the 21-year-old will be taking no part in the remainder of this season as well. Which has certainly caused neutral NBA fanatics and Pelicans fans to call out their star. Some of which regard him as a major ‘Bust’.

Zion Williamson ruled out for remaining 2021-22 season
The business end of the NBA season is just around the corner and the New Orleans Pelicans’ fanbase does not seem happy. With 11 games left in the regular season, it seems improbable Zion Williamson will return. Although many expected him to make his return, the latest news suggests Zion isn’t making his return anytime soon.

That being said, with the absence of Zion Willamson, Brandon Ingram has been phenomenal. He averages 22.8 points and 5.5 assists this season. CJ McCullum averages 26.1 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.4 rebounds. Despite facing an injury crisis all season, the team has coped up well and kept the playoff hopes alive till now.
The Pelicans are expected to face the likes of Los Angeles Lakers in the play-in tournament, now with Zion out, all hopes will be on Ingram and new-signing McCollum. Given that the 21-year-old would have been a huge addition in the team’s big to the playoffs, it is surely a big blow for the franchise. Where will New Orleans Pelicans end their 2021-22 season campaign? Remains to be seen.
