Kevin Durant and Michael Jordan are two of the greatest scorers to have ever embraced the league. While MJ set the standard for modern-era players, KD is known to be one of the smoothest scorers. On a recent occasion, while comparing the two offensive players, ESPN analysts check on their different attributes.
ESPN talk show, NBA on ESPN was on LeBron’s feat of becoming 2nd in most points scored list, Kendrick Perkins puts Kevin Durant ahead of LeBron James as the greatest scorer of all time. But Stephen A considers GOAT Michael Jordan over Kevin Durant in the scoring category. Many might compare these two ad superstars of different generations, a comparison between the scoring abilities of Kevin Durant and Michael Jordan was imminent.
Both analysts gave their views on the comparison. Perkins saw zero flow in KD’s offence. On the other hand, Stephen A. Smith acknowledged the scoring instinct of MJ sets him ahead of most of the top scorers of the league.

Two of the most furious scorers in the NBA, Kevin Durant, and Michael Jordan have very impressive resumes. Both players are multiple times scoring champions in NBA Regular season – Kevin won 4 times and Jordan has 10 scoring titles. They terrorize opponents with their shooting and effective ball handling capabilities.
As for the Perkins, who advocates Kevin Durant for the greatest scorer suggested that the Brooklyn Nets star has multiple shots in his Arsenal. He can shoot from mid-range and long-range with ease while attacking the basket with slick footwork.
Former NBA Champion said, “He (Kevin) is 6’11”, seven-foot. But his jump shot is sufficient. He has 38 points on 15 shots, and he does those on a regular (basis). If Kevin Durant wanted to, he could have about 10-11 scoring titles.” He also completed KD saying, “When it comes to a guy that gets the buckets at an efficient level, I am taking them all day.”

But Stephen A. Smith looks at the comparison from a very different angle. He compares the mentality of the shooter and the era both players have played in. Jordan playing in the “tough” era of the league wherein he had slightly difficult circumstances putting the ball in the basket. But prolific scorer managed to score over opponents with his “assassin” mentality.
