Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook has been considered as one of the greatest guards in the NBA. In his 13-year career, he has shown his exceptional quality of getting points while breaking the defense through his explosive moves. But since he joined the Lakers last summer there was a big downfall in his performance and he was considered the main culprit for the LA Lakers’ worst season. Because of this, Westbrook has been the most targeted personality by sports analysts.
But things totally changed on Friday night when the LA Lakers were at Toronto Raptors, in this thrilling game Russell Westbrook turned from an offender to Messiah for the Lakers through his clutch play in the last 13 seconds of the game. The former MVP stole the ball from the Raptors’ possession and shot a clutch three-pointer which tied the game and eventually the game went to overtime where the Lakers then defeated the Raptors by 128-123.
Russell Westbrook ends reporter with a seven-word GOAT response about his legacy
Westbrook’s clutch shot came just after he missed the three-pointer in the last possession of the Lakers which the reporters noted and asked how that didn’t affect him to make another attempt during the postgame interview.
The reporter asked, “A lot of times with your misses, when they’re bad misses, that get a lot of attention and stuff… the shots that are kind of high off the backboard. How do you not let that stuff affect your confidence?”
To which the nine-time all-star gave a GOAT response by saying, “I got 23,000 points. How about that?”
Westbrook’s response was really cold as he talked about how he has a 23000-point career tally in his bag which shows how confident he was when he took the final shot. With this performance, he was finally able to put some memorable game for this season, as he scored 22 points, grabbed ten rebounds, and assisted 10 times to his teammates while scoring.
