LA Lakers guard Russell Westbrook was put into Health and Safety protocol after the Lakers overtime road win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday by 107-104.

For the past few days the LA Lakers roster has hit a new rock, and this time it’s Health and Protocol. The outbreak is affecting the team‘s roster as some of the valuable players are put out of the regular lineup.

On Friday the Lakers announced that Kendrick Nunn and Austin Reeves have entered the Health and Safety protocol and will be put to complete isolation. They joined Avery Bradley, Talent Horton Tucker, Dwight Howard, and Malik Monk. Malik Monk was cleared to fly out with the Lakers but not cleared for playing as reported by ESPN.

Russell Westbrook, though put into isolation still didn’t miss the Lakers clash against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday. He flew from Dallas to Minneapolis, just six hours before the game. Testing was done to make Russell was negative before he could sign in to the hotel or take the team bus.

He finished with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Russell manages to not have even a single scratch on his appearance card this season for the Lakers. But even with the whole roster, the Lakers met with a blasting defeat. The Timberwolves dominated the star-studded Lakers throughout the match and beat them by 110-92. The defeat is a big letdown because the Lakers were finally winning and this just broke their 3 game win streak.

Russell’s questionable stance has everyone worried as it could create a huge void even though his performance hasn’t been on par with the potential he possesses still his presence on court balances the things. Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed addressed Lakers probable situation with Russell Westbrook on the roster.

He said, “I’ve seen this before, basically the Big 2 from the Lakers. I know what I’m going to get from LeBron, but what am I going to get from Anthony Davis?” Russell’s position raised a lot of doubts for the 28-year-old Davis. His habit of consistently picking up injuries here and there keeps the roster in a very shaky position and so do his plays.

The LA Lakers will face the Chicago Bulls on Sunday.
