“I think you meant to say MVP”- Nikola Vucevic Proclaims DeMar DeRozan as the MVP

DeMar DeRozan is undoubtedly having a crushing season so far. He has been dropping double digits quite frequently against his opponents and has been living the second-best career scoring season with an average of 26.9 points,  5.0 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.

His performance with the Toronto Raptors, the sole Canadian team who was thriving thanks to DeMar, during the 2016-17 NBA season was the best career statistics he ever produced; averaging 27.3 points for the Raptors.

The NBA has no qualms regarding DeMar’s influence on the court because the 31-year-old plays to dominate the rectangle. His influence on Chicago Bulls’ defense and offense is astronomical.  The Bulls have made a bigger impact this season with DeMar on the roster. So, seems like the off-season trade became a sinking ship for the San Antonio Spurs.

Nikola Vucevic- DeMar DeRozan should be on the MVP List!

DeMar DeRozan

The Bulls have got DeMar’s back. They believe that the level at which DeMar DeRozan has been performing and how consistent he has been in dropping big numbers on the scoreboard, he should be in the MVP discussion.

For Lonzo, Ball DeRozan has proven himself since he got drafted in 2009.

Ball said, “DeMar has been a star in this league for a long time, and I think this is probably his best year, to me. He’s showing everybody that he should definitely be MVP this year.”

But the hat goes to Nikola Vucavic who took on Twitter to declare that DeMar DeRozan is the MVP this season. Nikola quote tweeted a post by NBA Central that talked about how DeMar should be seriously considered for the ‘Most Improved” player considering the blasting plays he showed on the court.

Nikola didn’t quite agree and in reply wrote, “I think you meant to say Most Valuable.’

Vucevic isn’t wrong in believing so but this years’ MVP might be the toughest decision that the panel would have to make because the payers are at the best of their careers and are breaking and making records left and right. The MVP discussion each season is one of the most talked and mentioned topics in the NBA, as the who is gonna take the trophy home for the Most Valuable Player? It is tough to choose the best of the best.

In a recent ESPN Poll for MVPs, DeMar DeRozan finished 6th behind Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokić, and Chris Paul. DeMar might have to put more into his performance as the four of the 5 players above him are already MVPs and two are double MVPs beating them when they are at best in their respective fields would require DeMar’s blood, sweat, and tears.

The Chicago Bulls are currently 14-12 in the league and though they hit a rough patch ib between they still are going strong. The Bulls are on an 8 game win streak after they defeated the Orlando Magic in their previous match. DeMar DeRozan dropped 29 points for the Bulls. Their next target is the Washington Wizards whom they will face on Friday, January 7th.
