“I wasn’t myself” Ben Simmons spills the truth beans about his erratic behaviour which influenced his trade to Brooklyn Nets
Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons
The word around Ben Simmons has been a non-stop whirlpool of rumors that people hear through apparent sources. Since the start of the season, getting a hold on the point guard was quite a task after he repeatedly ignored calls from his teammates and coaching staff on multiple occasions leading up to this.
The Philadelphia 76ers front office and coaching staff had apparently tried very hard to convince Ben Simmons to play for the team again as he never expressed his truth entirely. Or was there even anything else besides what he said? This all ultimately influenced the big trade to the Brooklyn Nets.
This paired him along with veteran forward Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and a few other all-star veterans. The package for the Ben Simmons and James Harden swap involved Seth Curry and Andre Drummond as well. The trio fits the requirement of a strong big man and functional guards.

The layer and of course, a player’s happiness is the biggest requirement towards a healthy relationship and better playing conditions. However, the way that Ben Simmons handled the whole seems a bit ugly. Many believe that his erratic behavior forced the trade.
Simmons while severing all means of communication, he did not handle the rest of the questions well at all. Earlier in the season, the all-star player had tried practicing with his team but ended up refusing to practice a few defensive drills.
His behavior infuriated head coach Doc Rivers and made chuck Simmons out of the facility. The timeline goes like this, Simmons came forth to apologize and the coach has made efforts to convince the player to come back and join the action, but Simmons still chose to stay out.

Now, Ben Simmons had finally found himself a new place in the deal that also shifted Seth Curry and Andre Drummond. And honestly, it seems as if there was actually nothing to do hang around except for his bad mental health situation.
“It was just piled up… to where I just knew I wasn’t myself and I needed to get back into that place… being happy as a person,” said Simmons in a post-game interview. Maybe after starting a new chapter in his life, the point guard will be given the freedom to play a role he is comfortable with.
