The importance of Los Angeles Lakers vs New Orleans Pelicans’ showdown was beyond description for both camps. While the home team finally had their two marquee players back, a win for the away team would almost get them in touching distance for the play-in tournament.
Given the on-court bond of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Pelicans were well aware of how to stop these two giants from scoring against the play. As a result of which, Jaxson Hayes decided purposely shove LeBron onto his own teammate, only to concede a flagrant foul. Little did Haynes know; Davis wanted no hands upon his brother.

Anthony Davis gets into heated verbal banter with Jaxson Hayes
Davis missed 18 straight games, before making his return for the Lakers against his former team, Pelicans. Having the capability to hold the rim and also attack Valanciunas on the offensive board, Anthony Davis had to bring his A-Game as the Lakers are in a do-or-die position at this moment.
During the opening minutes of the play, LeBron James was all set to run and dunk. Just when Hayes stood in-front of him and purposely pushed the 37-year-old veteran. Anthony Davis who has been out of action for several weeks, came charging in, to exchange some heated words with the culprit before other members of each team came running in.
A loss for the Lakers would take them .013 behind San Antonio Spurs. In simpler words Frank Vogel’s team will be one win behind and one loss ahead of the team in the 10th berth, Spurs. Moreover, with the likes of Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors all set to stop them from making the post season, LeBron James and Anthony Davis led Lakers need a win as bad as ever.
Will we see the magical purple and gold duo, tuning back to their championship chemistry? Or is Pelicans going to sneak a win from the Crypto.com? Remains to be seen as the hoop bonanza unfolds.
