Andrew Wiggins is Canadian, while Aaron is from North Carolina, US. Their identical surnames is merely a coincidence, much to the fans’ disappointment. There are no extensive family ties between the two players, and they are not related by any means.
Who exactly is Aaron Wiggins?
Born and raised in the US, Aaron grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina. Attending the University of Maryland, Aaron’s athletic prowess saw him excel in college basketball. In the 2021 NBA draft, he was picked by the Oklahoma City Thunder, further down the list.
Aaron averaged 8.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 50 games in his rookie season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 6-foot-6 guard also had four 20-point games, including a stellar 28-point display against the Portland Trail Blazers. Although he has had a slower start to the new season, Aaron could be well on track toward his breakthrough year.
Andrew Wiggins, an NBA Champion
28 years of age, Andrew Wiggins was born on February 23, 1995, in Canada. Already an NBA champion, Andrew Wiggins is an instrumental part of the Golden State Warriors. Drafted in 2014, Wiggins has been playing as a small forward since his college days. Andrew dazzled the courts in his very debut season in the NBA and was named Rookie of the Year in 2015.
Andrew won his first Championship with the Golden State Warriors last season and was also named an All-Star. Despite their far-from-best performance in the ongoing NBA, Wiggins has managed to maintain a decent consistency throughout.
