The Golden State Warriors created history on June 16, 2022, by defeating the Boston Celtics and winning their 4th Championship in 8 years. Although it was a Steph Curry shooting clinic throughout the series, the Warriors wouldn’t be where they were if not for 6’7 forward Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins was the number 1 pick of the 2014 NBA draft and took home Rookie Of The Year honours for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
After spending about 5 and a half seasons with the Timberwolves, Wiggins was traded to the Golden State Warriors in February 2020. Wiggins became prominent in the 2021-22 NBA season when he was named an All-Star starter. He was a key contributor on both ends of the floor throughout the 2022 Playoffs. He finished the NBA Finals as the leading rebounder, blocker and second-highest scorer for the Warriors after averaging 18.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game.
Wiggins signed a contract extension with the Warriors in October 2022. He has played 39 games in the 2022-23 season and has averaged 17 PPG with a 3-point efficiency of 39.6 percent. Wiggins last played on February 13 against the Washington Wizards.

Andrew Wiggins’ status for tonight’s game Vs Pelicans
Andrew Wiggins was ruled out of the game vs the Los Angeles Clippers on February 14 due to personal reasons and has been out of action ever since. He has been listed as unavailable for tonight’s game against the Pelicans alongside Stephen Curry, Gary Payton II and Andre Iguodala. However, Warriors GM Bob Myers tuned into Bay Area Radio on 95.7 The Game and said, “I don’t think that’s what anybody is planning for. But we’ll leave that in its own place. That’s not the expectation. I think what you’re asking is — could he remain out for a long, long time? I don’t think that’s happening. I’m going to leave that alone. Hopefully when he gets back, whatever words he would like to say on it, which I don’t think will be much — it’s his private life — he will do,” with respect to Wiggins’ availability.
The Warriors have been playing stellar Basketball post the All-Star Break with 4 wins in 5 games. Veteran Klay Thompson has led the charge alongside Jordan Poole. The Warriors are currently placed 5th in the tightly contested Western Conference with Curry expected to return soon.
