Is Ja Morant suspended forever? When is he coming back?

NBA all-star Ja Morant was suspended over videos of him showing a gun off at a strip club in Denver and has not played ever since

Is Ja Morant suspended forever? When is he coming back?

Ja Morant

Ja Morant has been away from the Memphis Grizzlies for the last four games, but there has been no official statement on the suspension he is facing. The Grizzlies have suspended him for two games, and the rest of the missed games are reportedly down to Ja himself. The NBA star may be taking time off to process the allegations and their impact on his reputation.

Shams Charania from ESPN reported that the Colorado Police investigations have stated that “a video alone is not enough to bring charges.” The police noted this amongst the fact that there were no people present at the club who complained that Ja was wielding a gun. The police have dropped the charges against Ja at the club, but he is still not back on the court.

Fans suspect the NBA has banned the Grizzlies all-star as he carried a gun to Denver on an NBA plane which would be a definite suspension. The league has not released any statement and will likely decide on the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies are a turbulent ship without Ja going 2-2 in the four games without him.

In Ja Morant’s absence Dillion Brooks has been doing a lot of trash-talking for the Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies are a young and vocal team, and despite their leader being out, they do not back down from a challenge. Dillion Brooks has been in the news lately for taking shots at Draymond Green, Luka Doncic, and Kyrie Irving. The Grizzlies guard told Draymond to ‘keep doing his podcast’ after the Grizzlies beat the Golden State Warriors earlier this week.

Ja Morant might have said he was fine in the West, but Brooks took it further by calling out Western Conference rivals in Doncic and Irving. “It goes to show that sometimes they ain’t ready to come back to a physical game,” said Dillion Brooks before the Dallas Mavericks took on the Grizzlies on Saturday night. Luka Doncic is recovering from an injury he recently picked up and was not in contention of taking part, making this a cheap shot by Brooks.

He then went after Kyrie Irving saying – “He had a couple of words for me in Brooklyn, so I can’t wait to pick him up full every time and see him get exhausted.” Kyrie Irving was already stated as being out for the game due to personal reasons. Brooks took shots at two guys he knew would not play, making him seem very foolish and attention needy. Brooks will most likely take the backseat with trash talk when Ja is back, but no one knows when Ja will return.
