“It is possibly the only thing he is playing for”: Brian Windhorst believes LeBron James will win the scoring title this season

Brian Windhorst and LeBron James

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers have been consistently inconsistent when it comes to winning the game and improving their records. The veteran roster hand-picked by LeGM (LeBron James) himself isn’t getting the job done and is very disappointing if compared with the attention it got during the signings this offseason. The supporting cast of Russell Westbrook, Anthony Davis and Carmelo Anthony has always fallen short whenever the team needed them to step up and deliver. The team also has chemistry issues with effortlessness as not many put their heart and soul out there on the court to win a game.

Currently, the Los Angeles Lakers are ranked as the 9th seed in the western conference with the record of 29 wins and 39 losses at .426 as they have only won two of their last ten matches. With all this in-going drama it is just LeBron James who has his head high up as he dominates the offensive end taking the charge while trying his best to get the job done. This season he is averaging 29.7 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists. His scoring greats at the age of 37 years are godlike and unreal as not many expected the King to go all-in during a season where they fall in the play-in tournament while being a contender.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis

LeBron James this season may or may not have a real shot at the championship but he surely does for the scoring title. As he ranks among the top contenders like Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The results can not be said or predicted as the players can change the rankings any time they want to by just a better performance even on the last regular-season game.

Brian Windhorst’s take on LeBron James winning the scoring title

Discussing the scoring title and the favorites to win it this season Brian Windhorst on ESPN’s Sports Nation quoted: “It’s probably the only thing LeBron is really playing for at this point. I would probably have to go with LeBron. You know, last night is a good example. They are playing on the second night of a back-to-back in a game that was pretty much over after the first quarter, and LeBron had a sore knee. It was questionable, yet he still played 40 minutes in this game, was still out there getting buckets in the fourth quarter when it was a double-digit game.”

Brian Windhorst is probably very right with his take on LeBron James as even being on the losing side and maintaining a losing record the hopes for the King are still alive. As he drops heavy numbers and isn’t willing to call it a wrap with his underperforming team. His efforts have him ranked higher in the scoring rankings which may get him the title this year. But injuries especially when the postseason nears are very concerning for LeBron James who already is putting his heart and soul out to win the most he can while trying to get his hands on the scoring title which may add up his name as one of the greatest scorers in league history which not many accept.
