Jimmy Butler in action
Jimmy Butler was absolutely magnificent against the Toronto Raptors on Saturday night. He recorded his 15th triple-double against the Raptors and took the game to the third overtime. This was the second time in the current NBA season that a game went to a third overtime, the other one was on 26 Nov 2021 between the Kings and Lakers.
Unfortunately, Butler’s performance was not enough to bring the victory for the Miami heats. The Raptors were led by Gary Trent Jr scored 33 points and Scottie Barnes, Pascal Siakam OG Anunoby scored more than 20 points and defeated the heats by 124-120. The Miami Heat might have lost the game but their star forward registered an unheard record which has surpassed LeBron James.

The game between the Heats and Raptors was terrific so was Jimmy Butlers’ performance, he scored 37 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists he also stole the ball 3 times and even blocked the Raptors forward two times when they were on the move near the rim.
With this, Butler broke the record of LeBron James 32-point triple-double which was previously the highest-point triple-double record in the Miami Heats franchise history. This is not the first time that Jimmy Butler has surpassed King James, a few days ago when Heats faced the Lakers, Butler recorded the 10th triple-double for the heats and overtook LeBron James who earlier hold the most TDs in franchise history.

When the Heats coach Erik Spoelstra was asked about the breathtaking game here’s what he replied, “It was highly competitive and wild swings, back and forth, of emotion.” He further added, “It was going to require a great deal of mental toughness to be able to fight through a lot of frustrating moments in the first three quarters, but I thought we responded. Just a terrific ball game in the fourth quarter and all the overtimes.”
Jimmy Butler has become the new face for the Heats and leading them with an example. The Heats in this season has recorded 32-18 and despite their loss, they have still maintained their first position in the eastern conference and they will now go on for a 6-game road trip to improve their win-loss record in the season
