Kansas State’s Ayoka Lee breaks 35 years old scoring record of NCAA Divison-1 women’s college basketball

Ayoka Lee the #50 of Kansas State is a 6 ft. 6 inches big dominating center for the team as she recently broke the 35 years old record of NCAA Division-1 Women’s college basketball by scoring 61 points against the 14 Oklahoma. Ayoka’s game is a prime example of post domination just like the 90’s. The particular game where she broke the record had her as Shaq in the post as she just kept scoring in the paint while torturing the defense every time she had her hands on the ball.
The record was earlier held by Cindy Brown for 60 points and tied in 2016 by WNBA star Rachel Benham and finally today it stands broken as Ayoka Lee steps up knocking off the 14 Oklahoma with a record breaking performance. Even though before the game Ayoka thought it will just be a regular game as she quotes in her post game interview: “It’s crazy, I thought it was just going to be another Sunday.”
Lee in her 61 points offensive chain was 76.7 percent from the field making 23 out of 30 attempted field goals while not even attempting a shot from the downtown just pure fundamentals. She was also good on the line making 15 out of 17 free throws. Adding to this godlike offensive performance of her she also grabbed 12 rebounds and 3 highlights worthy block as she is also a defensive beast.
In the match-up Ayoka Lee not only broke the NCAA Divison-1 women’s college basketball scoring record but also in addition to it set a Big 12 record and a Kansas State record while getting a new career high for herself. She was just 5 points short in out-scoring the opposite team as the final box score is 94-65 and being on the winning side she herself added 61 points in the rally.
