Kendrick Perkins slams Kyrie Irving for “playoff-adjustment” comment regarding Kings; Brings up 16-year playoff drought

Sometimes, teams do not have it easy struggling to make it to the playoffs each year almost consistently. In some cases, the team would have all the talent in the league but still miss out on the playoff. It could be because of horrible team chemistry, injuries, or bad coaching.
Teams like the Phoenix Suns and the 76ers have both experienced being at the bottom. Similarly, the Sacramento Kings have been in a huge slump for years. The last this team had experienced the playoffs was before the release of the world’s first iPhone.
This is the longest playoff drought that the league has ever experienced. The addition of Alvin Gentry as head coach played out well on paper and maybe a couple of games, but the Kings are unfortunately only getting worse. The last time the Kings made the playoffs, Chris Webber had one last season left to his career. So will the Kings find their legs again?
The Sacramento Kings are their way to the bottom once again
The franchise has a roster filled with promising young like De’Aaron Fox who has been averaging 21 points with 3.8 rebounds, 5.2 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Fox has been an incredible main piece for the team but the effectiveness of his numbers are meaningless with a team that cannot reciprocate
Right besides Fox is the veteran forward, Harrison Barnes who is putting up 16.5 points with 6.1 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. Buddy Hield comes in at third for scoring averaging 14.7 points per game and shooting 36.6% from three on 9.1 attempts. Tyrese Haliburton is a promising player with the ability to score but the Kings have to work out a system where his potential can be met.
Kendrick Perkins reacts to Sacramento Kings missing the playoffs for almost twenty years
Following a comment Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving has made which said that the Kings are playing “playoff-adjustment basketball,” Kendrick Perkins was quick to rip the Kings for their terrible performances on a nightly basis.
“Kings ain’t been to the playoffs is damn near 20 years! How the hell they know anything about playoff adjustments?! Don’t mind me tho and carry on,” said Perkins. Fans were also quick to attack from all sides, so here are some reactions.
