“Kyrie Irving can play tomorrow” NYC mayor Eric Adams leaves the crowd in splits as he responds to heckling Nets fans
NBA has been infuriated by the decision by the announcement that Kyrie Irving can attend home games for the Brooklyn Nets but as a spectator only, Eric Adams the Mayor of New York has spoken about the whole Kyrie Irving situation on getting vaccinated to step foot in the home court.
Kyrie Irving playing on the Road for the Nets
Kyrie Irving hasn’t played in front of the New York fans, due to the New York City COVID Mandate, but he is eligible to play everywhere else. Kyrie Irving has been playing everywhere except in Brooklyn and Maddison Garden, he has also not played in Toronto due to the Canadian Restrictions in place. The Nets will be playing in the playoffs for sure, but the major concern that is lingering is that no team would want to play their star players only on the road, especially in the playoffs. It is simply that the team needs their full strength to challenge for the title. This comes also in a way that Kyrie Irving has not yet made his decision to get vaccinated. It all now depends on the NYC mandate to be lifted in order to help the team through the playoffs.
Kyrie Irving has played 18 games for the Nets and has averaged 36.2 minutes during those games, with a whopping 25.9 points, 5.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds. The stats are decent and not what it would look if Uncle Drew was balling all the games, this season. It is going to be a heartbreak for the Brooklyn Nets and the NBA fans if the mandate is not lifted, it will be sad to see him available only in games on the road.
NYC Mayor Eric Adams on Kyrie Irving’s Eligibility
The NBA fans have been made to wonder what is going on with the mandate that is restricting Kyrie Irving from playing home games. But against the games against the New York Knicks, Kyrie Irving was seen for the first time on the court in NYC, but his part was limited to a spectator, he was seen cheering for his teammates and watching the game. He can attend the game as a spectator but cannot step foot on the court as a player. It has heckled the fans, even more, when NYC Mayor Eric Adams issued a statement saying that he can play at home, but after getting vaccinated.
Eric Adams the NYC Mayor replied to a heckling fan, “Listen, you’re right. Kyrie can play tomorrow. Get vaccinated.” It has confused the entire NBA fanbase. Kevin Durant in an interview also spoke about the mandate regarding Kyrie Irving still being restricted to take part in games, “It just feels like, at this point now, somebody’s trying to make a statement or point to flex their authority, everybody out here is looking for attention. That’s what I feel like the mayor wants right now: some attention.”
