The Brooklyn Nets fans base have been on a roller coaster rider in the 2021-22 season. With Kevin Durant leading the way for the team in the East, to Kyrie Irving’s return, to a falling out with James Harden. After emotions and the situation in the NBA changing every second day, one particular Nets fan decided to make a heart-felt plea to Kyrie Irving in order to get his vaccination stance changed. Something surely, many have tried over the past months.
To those who are not aware, part of James Harden requesting a trade from Brooklyn was the growing discomfort, he experienced. One of the many reasons included Kyrie Irving’s absence from the team during the home games. Kevin Durant has already been side-lined due to MCL injury. Moreover, with Irving not available in all the game, the Beard felt undone being a part of a lackluster team who had no inspiration.

Safe to say, the heart felt plea by one of the may Brooklyn Nets fan got a very cold-hearted response from Irving. Something, which will give an idea to the rest of the fan base and the team management, to what is to come.
However, in 13 games this season, Irving is averaging 23.8 points and 5.4 assists per game. He is still roughly the same player he always has been, which exacerbates Brooklyn’s dismay with his stubbornness. Irving may be lucky enough to get back to playing full-time without having to waver on his choice. New York Governor Kathy Hochul is expected to lift the state’s indoor mask/vaccine mandate soon. New York City Mayor Eric Adams still has to do the same for the city before Irving can play, but Hochul’s decision is a start.
That being said, the Nets have experienced the longest losing streak in the league, having lost more than 10 consecutive games. But now, with the likes of Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and Ben Simmons, Irving will surely be tempted enough to participate in all games. Imagine a starting line-up including Simmons, Durant and Irving at Barclays Center. Seems wonderful! Doesn’t it.
