“I got you brother” Kyrie Irving saves Kevin Durant from another random injury vs Miami Heat
Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving
The sole hope of Brooklyn Nets lies in two players, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, and these are the two players who have carried the team throughout the year, except for the part where these players have been involved in controversies or injuries, and to be very honest, their injuries and controversies have covered most of their season. Irving wasn’t able to play any of the home games for Brooklyn Nets due to NYC’s vaccine mandates and Durant had an injury ridden season, both of which resulted in the absence of these players from many of the games for the Nets.
Kyrie Irving’s decision to not get vaccinated landed him in the middle of the controversy as the player who believes in the importance of personal choices said that he wouldn’t succumb to the pressure put up by governments on players. This personal choice of Irving was something that is under his control and therefore, he can change it any time that he wants and he still isn’t doing it, which is something that troubles the Nets fanbase. But the fact remains that avoiding injuries or recovering from them isn’t something that is in the control of Kevin Durant. Durant has suffered from injuries to his Achilles almost throughout the year, with every little fall or failed movement troubling him.
Kyrie and Kevin’s friendship isn’t something that can be questioned, with the former also going ahead and saying that no matter what happens, he won’t let go of his “brother”. Irving won’t let anything happen to his teammate, his brother, and therefore, he walked the walk when it was needed, he saved Durant from injuring himself once again in order to save the player and the team, who have already struggled in the absence of these stars.
Let us take a closer look at this sequence as Irving saved Durant from injuring himself as the commentators and the crowd lauded his effort to do so.
Kevin Durant saved by Kyrie Irving from yet another injury
In the Miami Heat’s game against the Brooklyn Nets which the latter won by a comfortable margin, cruising against their rivals who now stand at the second position in the Eastern Conference, there were many moments which caught the attention of the crowd and the entire world, one of which being Drummond’s dunk after throwing a peace sign and the other one was Kyrie saving his brother and teammate Durant from having another injury and potentially ending his entire season.

With just under 4 minutes remaining in the 3rd quarter, the Nets’ Kyrie Irving had the possession and was carrying it to the other end of the court. Irving who was on the run parallelly with Kevin Durant decided to pass the ball to the latter, who carried it forward in an attempted lay-up, but ended up in an awkward clash with Jimmy Butler, due to which he couldn’t jump and almost ended up injuring himself as he was about to fall in the crowd. Irving identified the danger and stopped Durant from falling as he held him from the back, after which Durant smiled and appreciated his effort.
Durant was then seen analysing his knee, highlighting that if he would’ve fallen and injured himself, it would’ve possibly ended his season, resulting in a big loss for the Nets, which would’ve probably ended their hopes of getting a championship this year. The commentators and the crowd appreciated Irving’s effort to stop his friend from injuring him as well, as the Commentators said, “I got you” to highlight what Irving must’ve said.
