Lakers News: Isaiah Thomas reveals honest feeling on playing alongside LeBron James in LA

With several of LA Lakers players entering the NBA Health and Safety Protocol, the purple and gold army immediately looked upon the players who they can bring in via short contracts. One of which was Isaiah Thomas, who is willing to make the most of his opportunity after he signed a 10-day contract with the Frank Vogel coached Lakers, starting from Lakers vs Timberwolves encounter.  

This has given a chance for Isaiah Thomas to play alongside LeBron James in LA. Ahead of the Lakers vs Timberwolves showdown, Thomas revealed the turn of events which made his sign for 2020 NBA Champions. He revealed that manager, Rob Pelinka called him and ask upon his availability, to which he quickly responded and made use of the newest chance to return to NBA once again.

“When Rob called me yesterday morning and asked if I’d be interested, I said ‘hell yeah!’” Thomas shared, per Spectrum SportsNet. “I’ve been waiting for this chance, I’m excited to be here, I’m excited about the opportunity. Any way I can help, I’m gonna provide. That’s what I’m here for.”

Isaiah Thomas never stopped working despite initially failing to sign with a team in the offseason. After leading USA Basketball’s secondary team in the World Cup Qualifiers, he signed with the NBA G League. Right in his first game, he proved that he is more than ready to play at the NBA level once again with a 42-point, six-rebound and eight-assist outing in his G-League debut.

Having said that, with majority of the Lakers’ players ruled out after entering the Health and Safety Protocol, Isaiah Thomas has a quality chance in making his way back into the NBA. If he can come to score and support LeBron James and Russell Westbrook against the showdown against Karl Anthony Towns led Minnesota Timberwolves, we could surely witness the 5’8 guard being a part of the purple and gold’s long run.
