“LeBron had to change, everybody had to make sacrifices” Anthony Davis gets brutally honest on challenges faced by Russell Westbrook with Lakers
Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook
LeBron James and Anthony Davis played a key role in Lakers acquiring Russell Westbrook before the start of 2021-22 season. With expectations beyond the clouds, the reality was quite the opposite. Game after game, Mr. Triple Double struggled and with him the morale of the purple and gold army was evidently affected. However, two personnel who never threw Westbrook under the bus were, Bron and AD for respective reasons.
Now when the Lakers ended their current season on a high note, Davis decided to talk about the challenges faced by Russell Westbrook with the Los Angeles Lakers. On ‘Kyle Goon of the Southern California News Group,’ 2020 NBA Champ, Anthony Davis provided his take on Brodie’s stint with the Lakers. Surely, something you should not miss.
What was opinionated by Anthony Davis?
Anthony Davis stated, “LeBron had to change; everybody had to change. Everybody had to make sacrifices. It was tough for him (Westbrook) to adjust to that. It was tough for me to adjust to that when I first got here playing with somebody of Bron’s caliber, because I was so used to, ‘OK, here, get the ball to AD, and we’ll figure it out.”
That being said, after a horrific 2021-22 season, the knives are out for Los Angeles Lakers. It is expected that either one of Anthony Davis or Russell Westbrook would be sharing the court with LeBron James, as the latter’s current contract sees him in Hollywood until the end of 2022-23 season.
Given that Anthony Davis has been majorly haunted by injuries in the current season, he has gone onto miss literally half of it. On the other hand, Westbrook’s inconsistency was on display, game after game. With Frank Vogel being the first-ones to vacate his seat, major actions are expected the turn the tables around for LA Lakers. Will we see the trio of Brodie, the King and Brow in the next season? Chances are slim, but NBA has been known to produce some insane line-ups. Remains to be seen, if we are in for the same.
