“LeBron James has dominated an era of his little bros”- Al Harrington on how the era of Lakers Superstar and Michael Jordan Contradict

Michael Jordan (L) Lebron James (R)

It is an everyday debate between LeBron James ad Michael Jordan for the G.O.A.T position and everyone has their own inputs. Some compare the two on the basis of the points they scored, some on how intimidating or dominant they were on the court, some on how much they influenced their teams and peers but the former NBA players Al Harington brought a whole new perspective to the argument.

Al Harington was drafted in 1998 by the Indian Pacers and after playing for 16 NBA seasons as a power forward with seven different organizations, he finally retired in 2015. Since retiring, he went on to become an entrepreneur in the Cannabis industry: aka Marijuana, and founded his brand Viola. According to him, Cannabis “Brings connectivity. It’s fellowship.” Al currently coaches the Cape Town Tigers.

LeBron James is on everyone’s dartboard. Everyone has to have a say on topics concerning LeBron whether it is his age, his shots, defense, fighting for social justice, etc. anything.

On the recent episode of I AM ATHLETE podcast, Al Harington guest appeared and dropped a heavy observatory bomb that took the LeBron James vs Michael Jordan GOAT debate by storm.

Al believes that the times have changed so does the pattern playing. During the 80s or 90s, the games were just not a mere match but were a battlefield where things were taken aggressively seriously.

He commented, “Michael Jordan came up in the era where everybody hated each other.”

“They did not f— with each other, was no homeboys in the offseason, was no, ‘Let’s go to the clubs in the summer and go holler at some chicks.’ It was none of that. … When they played, it was war. LeBron has dominated an era of his little bros. They all his little bros, everybody. Who does he has it with? Who? What star has LeBron had it with? What team has LeBron had it with?” Harington added.

Well, it is true the rules have changed but that doesn’t mean the playing instincts have dulled. The 90s era was more like “Give it all till the end” but the matches today still possess the same mentality but people have understood that it is just a small part of their entire life. They understand their job, respect it, love it and they get it done. The game may be more corporatized but the stardom they create is being used for so many social and communal causes to help society.

The GOAT between Michael Jordan and LeBron James would continue even for LeBron retires because belittling either of them is not correct casue’ they ruled their respective eras.
