LeBron James’ Lakers looking to outrace Bucks and Nets for highly-coveted free agent
Goran Dragic
Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers were two of the biggest teams which remained relatively quiet on trade deadline day. But now are looking at the buyout market to make necessary changes in their roster before the 2021-22 season enters business days, approaching playoffs. And one player in particular, which has caught the eye of most teams, is All-Star guard Goran Dragic.
To those who are not aware, Dragic recently secured a buyout from the San Antonio Spurs after being traded from the Toronto Raptors. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Milwaukee Bucks are the front runners in securing the services of the 35-years-old guard. But the Lakers will not make the signing so easy for the defending champions, especially when Anthony Davis too could be potentially ruled out for 4-6 weeks.

Could the Lakers sign Goran Dragic?
“Goran Dragic is spending this week talking with teams about where he might like to sign, and foremost on that list are the Milwaukee Bucks,” Wojnarowski said. “But the Bulls are competing for him. The Clippers, the Nets, the Lakers are trying to be involved in this.”
Wojnarowksi did not stop there and went on to explain, though, that the Bucks currently have the best offer for Dragic in terms of the role he will be able to play with the team if he decides to join them, “Dragic I think is closer to a decision but Milwaukee has been aggressive and they can offer him not just a chance at being part of the defending champions, but a chance to play a pretty significant role, and I think that’s really been their sell to him.”
Given that the Lakers are bound to have Kendrick Nunn back to support Malik Monk and Austin Reaves among other players, the addition of Goran Dragic could be huge for the purple and gold army. Even if Anthony Davis taken time to recover from his recent ankle injury, Dragic could be a huge boost for the Lakers to turn their season’s dynamics around at all costs.
