Kyrie Irving has played just 20 games for the Brooklyn Nets, due to the COVID Mandate and his decision to not get vaccinated, due to which he was unable to play any games that were held in the city of New York. Now the mandate has been lifted and Kyrie can finally set foot in the Barclays Center as a player, rather than an audience. Kyrie Irving has shown us exactly why the Brooklyn Nets need him, in the 20 games which he has played for the Brooklyn Nets he has averaged 28.5 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.5 rebounds.

Stephen A. Smith on ‘First Take’ in ESPN, said how excited he was when the news broke out, “I’m very very happy that Kyrie Irving is going to be on the basketball court. I’m ecstatic, mind you, because his absence would have cost the Brooklyn Nets a championship, I firmly believe that. … The mandate was bogus.” Said Smith. But what he said next didn’t really make anyone happy, “He put himself above the team, which is entirely his right. … But at the end of the day that don’t make him no damn hero, because he’s not. He was willing to leave the Brooklyn Nets hanging if necessary, willing to jeopardize their championship hopes if necessary, because of his individual isolated choice, at the expense of his entire organization”, said Stephen A. Smith.

This was something which was not enjoyed by Stephen Jackson Sr., “He may not be a hero to you, but he a hero to somebody”, said Jackson Sr. What Stephen Jackson Sr. was trying to prove was that Stephen A. Smith need not had to go to that extent to blast Kyrie Irving for a decision he thinks that was best for him. “And if that’s someone’s definition of a hero, I’ll just say it damn sure ain’t mine.” Said Jackson Sr.
